Peter Labrow. Writer, author and business-to-business marketer.
I’ve never believed that anyone should settle for being one thing. Being a writer and a marketer helps make me better at both. And their common lifeblood is storytelling, right?
Writing. Marketing. Two halves of a whole.

Fiction and non-fiction author
I’ve written a top-rated horror novel, The Well. I’m co-author of a book about writing really great press releases, called Is It News? I’ve written professionally for around forty years, including for magazines, websites and all kinds of marketing copy.

Business-to-business marketing
I help organisations work out where they want to go, then help them to get there. This includes taking products and services to market, managing marketing and communications projects, and building customer engagement through content marketing.
Current writing project: Gigs Live Music Club, Derby Hall, Bury, 1979–1987
My current writing project is a personal record of the North Manchester music scene in the early 1980s, examined through the lens of Gigs Live Music Club at the Derby Hall in Bury.
Project diary
Keep track of the book’s progress.
I spent a good few hours today searching through the archives at The Met in Bury with my brother Andy, looking for anything related to the Gigs Live Music Club. Andy took over running Gigs when I moved to Oldham, although I was still involved for a good few years. He also worked front of house at the Derby Hall for a few years – and I welcomed the second pair of eyes.
